3-star hotel with indoor public baths and a library, short walk from Kyoto Station
Amenities & Services
Almont Hotel Kyoto offers an indoor public bath, a facility uncommon for hotels in its price range. The on-site library, styled like an upscale bookstore, provides books for guests to borrow during their stay. A 24-hour front desk handles photocopying and luggage storage, and coin-launderette machines are available for guest use.
Accommodations
Each air-conditioned room includes a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Guests receive sleepwear, slippers, a toothbrush set, and an air purifier or humidifier in the room. Rooms feature a private bathroom with hairdryer and free toiletries.
Location & Transport
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from Hachijo East Exit of JR Kyoto Station, giving direct access to airport shuttles for Osaka Itami and Kansai International airports. Major sights such as Fushimi Inari Jinja Shrine are a 20-minute walk, while Higashi Hongan-ji Temple is 15 minutes on foot. Nijo Castle can be reached in 15 minutes by bus or taxi from the hotel.
Dining
A breakfast buffet offers around 70 dishes, combining both Japanese and Western cuisines. The hotel's restaurant also provides other meal options, though the buffet is the primary draw. Guests can enjoy welcome drinks available from 3 to 10 p.m. daily, including hot and cold beverages.
Wellness & Relaxation
The indoor public bath is open for guest relaxation and is a standout feature among similarly priced hotels in Kyoto. Mikimoto-branded shampoo and body soap are provided in the bath area. Guests also receive a complimentary set of postcards on arrival.

“For a reasonable price, this hotel goes above and beyond, delivering on comfort and convenience near Kyoto Station. I was particularly struck by the thoughtful touches like complimentary postcards and the inviting library, more akin to a stylish bookstore. The public baths are a welcome addition, especially considering the hotel's affordability.”
